The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo di Palazzo Battaglini is produced from 100% Montepulciano grapes. The company's vineyards, trained in the Abruzzo pergola system, extend into the territory of Villamagna (CH) on clay-calcareous soils at an altitude of about 243 meters above sea level. During the red winemaking process, the must maceration with the skins lasted for 7-10 days with frequent punch-downs. The aging took place for 12 months in concrete tanks. Palazzo Battaglini uses Dring, the innovative bottle with an integrated drip saver, for its wines. It is a patented device that allows pouring wine without any drops falling from the bottle. No more wine stains on the tablecloth.
The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo di Palazzo Battaglini presents itself with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it displays aromas of plum and wild berries combined with hints of rose and violet, as well as notes of dark spices. The palate is soft and balanced with a round tannic texture and a pleasant fruity and balsamic finish. It pairs well with cold cuts and cheeses, as well as tasty land-based dishes, especially those made with red meats.
