Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioBaccanera di Cascina Lo Zoccolaio is a blend of Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from vineyards located in Barolo and Monforte d’Alba, facing southeast, at an altitude of 300 meters on marly-calcareous soils. After the harvest in late September, rigorously done by hand as tradition dictates, only the best grapes are selected. The vinification then proceeds separately by grape variety: destemming, gentle pressing, and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is blended and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and further refined in the bottle before being sold (the company has chosen a high-quality bottle, with heavy glass, for better and longer aging).
PLACEHOLDER_WINE has a dark and intense ruby color; on the nose, the fruit dominates, with jammy wild berries and dried plum emerging, followed by hints of withered rose and iris, gentle woodland balsamic notes, and nuances of sweet spices and pepper. On the palate, it has good body, balance, freshness, fine tannins, and a fruity finish. Excellent with roast duck.
