The Gewürztraminer of the Abbazia di Novacella is produced from the vineyards of Varna, an amphitheatre sloping above the complex of the ancient splendid Abbey, between 600 and 750 metres above sea level, with South - Southwest exposure, on gravel, silt and sand soils of morainic origin. A scenario of great charm and mysticism; try to cross the buildings of the complex, from the courtyard with the Well of Wonders, to the late Baroque convent church, to the flowery cemetery and go up to the back, enter the vineyards and walk along the walls of the gardens of the Augustinian Canons: you will understand. The grapes are harvested in early October and vinified in steel. Still in steel, the wine ages 6 months before being placed on the market.

GEWURZTRAMINER ABBAZIA DI NOVACELLA: TASTING

The Gewürztraminer from Abbazia di Novacella has a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden reflections; the nose is rich in its beautiful varietal aromas: rose, lychee, grapefruit accompanied by a sweet spice of vanilla and cloves. In the mouth, it is soft, pleasantly aromatic, and quite long. Good with shrimp and curry risotto, or with fresh tagliolini with basil and lobster.
