Corpo medioThe Etna Rosso San Lorenzo di Girolamo Russo is produced from Nerello Mascalese grapes, with small amounts of Nerello Cappuccio, originating from Contrada San Lorenzo: 12 hectares at the gates of Randazzo, nestled on the low-mountain slopes of the volcano, between 700 and 800 meters on not very ancient lava flows, which have formed young and porous soils, rich in sharp volcanic stones that ensure excellent drainage. Giuseppe Russo works the vineyards with care and respect, in an organic regime. After pressing, the must ferments spontaneously in steel, with a maceration of more than 10 days. The wine then undergoes an aging of about 20 months in French oak barriques of different passages.
The PLACEHOLDER_WINE has a beautiful intense ruby red color; on the nose, it is a concentration of a territory: aromatic herbs, pungent balsams, smoky earth, warm spices, acidic flowers. The palate is young, nervous, highly fragrant, tannic, and long. To be tasted now and kept for uncorking in the coming years, perhaps in the company of a herb and horseradish beef tartare, or with hunter-style rabbit.
