Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Etna Rosso Erse di Tenuta di Fessina was produced using 90% Nerello Mascalese, 8% Nerello Cappuccio, and 2% Minnella and Carricante grapes grown in the territory of Rovittello, a hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT). The vineyards, facing North-East, cover about 6 hectares, at an altitude of about 700 meters above sea level. In the cellar, after a soft destemming and crushing phase, the must was fermented in stainless steel at a temperature of 23-26°C with maceration of the must in contact with the skins for 6-9 days. The anticipated aging was 12 months in the bottle. With Etna Rosso Erse di Tenuta di Fessina, Tenuta Fessina revives an ancient tradition of Etna viticulture which consisted in vinifying together red and white berry varieties.
The Etna Rosso Erse di Tenuta di Fessina presents itself with a delicate ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of small red fruits intertwined with hints of blackberry leaf and spicy notes of cloves, coriander, and pimento. The taste is soft and intense, supported by smooth tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. It pairs well with semi-aged cheeses as well as flavorful meat-based first and second courses.
