Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano di Donnafugata
The Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano di Donnafugata is obtained from 100% Carricante grapes grown in the territories of Randazzo and Passopisciaro, a hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania. The vineyards are located on the north side of Mount Etna, at an altitude between 730 and 750 meters above sea level, on volcanic soils with sandy texture, naturally rich in minerals. After the manual harvest, carried out in the second half of September with a yield not exceeding 65 quintals per hectare, the grapes were sent for vinification.
The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 14-16°C. Before being commercialized, Donnafugata's Etna Bianco DOC Sul Vulcano aged for 10 months partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak barriques of second and third passage, finally resting for 9 months in the bottle.
ETNA BIANCO SUL VULCANO DONNAFUGATA: TASTING NOTES
The Etna Bianco Sul Vulcano di Donnafugata presents itself in the glass with a straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of yellow flesh fruits intertwined with fragrant hints of white flowers and notes of flint. Completing the olfactory profile are subtle herbal and citrus undertones. The palate is fresh and enveloping, characterized by a pronounced minerality that lingers in the finish. It pairs well with semi-aged cheeses, vegetarian dishes - such as those with porcini mushrooms - and flavorful seafood first and second courses based on white fish, shellfish, and crustaceans.Product specifications
