Corpo medioEtna Bianco Nerina by Girolamo Russo is produced from 70% Carricante grapes, and from 30% of other local vines: Catarratto, Inzolia, Grecanico, Minnella and Coda di volpe. The vineyards of origin of the grapes are 3: San Lorenzo, 12 hectares at the gates of Randazzo, lying on the low-mountain slopes of the volcano, between 700 and 800 metres, on not very ancient lava flows, which have formed young and porous soils, rich of angular volcanic stones that guarantee excellent drainage; Feudo, 6 characterised by the microclimate influenced by the winds that blow from the Valdemone; Calderara Sottana, between 600 and 700 metres above sea level, with the ground covered with light pumice and basalt stones that retain the daytime heat and release it during the night. The grapes ferment in wooden barrels, where the wine then matures on the lees for 6 months; before being placed on the market, the wine remains in the bottle for 6 months.
The Etna Bianco Nerina 2019 by Girolamo Russo is presented in the glass of straw yellow colour with golden reflections; on the nose, it is generous with yellow summer and tropical fruit, flowers of the Mediterranean scrub, first of all, the broom, mineral hints and a slight spiciness. In the mouth, it is in great balance between the fragrant softness and a good share of acidity and flavour. Good with a purple prawn tartare and burrata.
