Aroma fruttato
Corpo robustoThe Brunello Riserva Poggio Abate di La Poderina is obtained from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes harvested by hand in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, in the province of Siena. During vinification, alcoholic fermentation with must maceration on the skins took place in stainless steel at a temperature of 24-28°C. Following the post-fermentative maceration at 29°C, the wine is transferred to oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, where it will undergo weekly batonnage for about 5 months, before aging in the same containers for another 19 months.
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio Abate from La Poderina presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of sour cherry and ripe red fruits combined with hints of balsamic herbs, undergrowth notes, and dark spices. The olfactory profile is complemented by hints of cinchona, tobacco, and vanilla. The palate is enveloping and elegant, enhanced by a silky tannic structure. The long finish plays on balsamic and spicy undertones. Pair it with aged cheeses and rich earth-based dishes with red meats or game.
