Corpo robustoMichele Satta's Bolgheri Rosso represents the achievement of what Michele has been working towards in recent years: the creation of a red wine with great character and drinkability that showcases the territory where the grapes are grown. It is composed of 30% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Syrah, and 10% Teroldego. The grapes are cultivated with care and artisanal dedication in a high density vineyard (about 6000 plants/ha) where a harmonious balance with nature is sought. The grapes are harvested manually to allow the selection of perfectly ripe bunches; fermentation takes place with pumping over or punching down but without the addition of artificial yeasts. After 12 months in wood (partly in large 30 hl oak barrels, partly in barriques between 3-5 years old), the wine is bottled and rests in the cellar for 6 months before being sold.
Michele Satta's Bolgheri Rosso is an intense ruby red. The nose is extremely representative of the Bolghieri territory with notes of juniper berries, pine bark, red plum, blackberries, catmint, and brackish notes reminiscent of anchovy. In the mouth it is fresh and savory, with a good length and a finish reminiscent of blood oranges. This dangerously drinkable wine is perfect with pappardelle with meat and mushroom sauce.
