The Barolo Villero di Giuseppe Mascarello is born from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the homonymous subzone of Castiglione Falletto (CN). The vineyards here are rooted in clay-sandy and limestone soils, at an altitude of about 280 meters above sea level. The red winemaking process included a long maceration phase of the must on the skins for 16-21 days, allowing for greater extraction of tannins, substances, and color, enriching the wine also in terms of structure. The aging process took place for 30 months in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels.

BAROLO VILLERO : TASTING NOTES

The Barolo Villero di Giuseppe Mascarello presents itself with a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe red berries and potpourri of wild rose and violet meeting hints of balsamic herbs, undergrowth, and notes of licorice and dark spices. The taste is enveloping and deep, supported by a silky tannic structure and a long balsamic and spicy finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses as well as rich meat-based dishes of red meats or game at the table.
