Barolo Vigneto Rocchette 2005 by Lorenzo Accomasso comes from La Morra, in the heart of Barolo, from Nebbiolo grown in the Rocche dell’Annunziata area. La Morra, Rocchette and an uncompromising tradition

Lorenzo Accomasso farms just over three hectares across the Rocche dell’Annunziata and Annunziata MGAs. The Rocchette vineyard lies in La Morra at around 300 metres above sea level with a southerly exposure. Winemaking follows a classic path, with long macerations, ageing in large casks and unhurried timing; the wines are typically bottled later than is customary in the area.

The character of the 2005 vintage

2005 is remembered as a cool, classically styled vintage. Tasting notes highlight redcurrant, pepper and blood orange, together with a mineral, savoury streak.
