Corpo robustoBarolo Serralunga d'Alba di Villadoria comes from the selection of the most suitable family vineyards in the municipality of Serralunga, such as Lazzarito and Meriame. Looking at the map, it is clear that the territory of this important municipality is a strip that extends from north to south and therefore has very different characteristics from side to side. The soil is composed of calcareous marl of sedimentary origin with a certain percentage of clay. The vineyards of the Lanzavecchia family here have an average of 25 years of age. The grapes, harvested by hand, are de-stemmed and pressed with great delicacy; alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a maximum temperature of 28° C, with maceration ranging from 25 to 28 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously, then the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for a minimum period of 18 months, then another 20 months in steel.
Villadoria's Barolo Serralunga d'Alba is ruby red tending to bright garnet. The nose opens on the floral of gentian, geranium and dried rose, then it is enriched with cherries in alcohol, undergrowth, leather, black pepper and light tar. The mouth is well balanced between elegance and power, with a great tannic expression blended with the juicy pulp. Excellent accompanied with baked tomini sprinkled with white truffle.
