Palladino's Barolo Ornato 2014 is produced from the Ornato vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba: only 1 hectare with southern exposure and an altitude between 300 and 400 m above sea level, with clayey limestone soil. The Barolo production disciplinary establishes that only 3 of the 11 municipalities indicated as the area of origin of the Nebbiolo grapes suitable for the production of Barolo wine are suitable for the cultivation of vines throughout the country: Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo and Castiglione Falletto. The grapes are harvested manually and fermented in steel vats. The wine then ages 24 months in large oak barrels.

BAROLO ORNATO PALLADINO: TASTING

Barolo Ornato 2014 shows a ruby red colour with garnet hues; on the nose, it is intense and fragrant: violets, cherries, blood orange, rhubarb, cloves, cinchona and sweet spices. In the mouth, it is powerful (almost overbearing), mineral, austere and long. It needs solid gastronomic companions, for example a traditional braised beef in Barolo, a venison goulash or beef cheek with mashed potatoes.
