Fine WineThe Barolo Cerequio DOCG 2020 from Vietti is a wine that best expresses the excellence of viticulture in the Langhe. Originating from the prestigious Cerequio cru, located between La Morra and Barolo, this wine is the result of meticulous care in selecting Nebbiolo grapes, grown on calcareous-clay soils with a south-southeast exposure. These geographic characteristics, combined with a climate that alternates between hot summers and cold winters, allow the grapes to develop unique complexity and structure. Harvesting is strictly manual, with careful selection of the best clusters. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a prolonged maceration of about 3-4 weeks. Subsequently, the Barolo ages in oak barrels for about 30 months, during which it develops its distinctive organoleptic characteristics.
The Barolo Cerequio DOCG 2020 presents a deep and intense garnet red color. On the nose, the bouquet is complex and refined, with notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, followed by floral hints of rose and violet, accompanied by sweet spices, tobacco, and a slight touch of licorice. On the palate, this Barolo is elegant and enveloping, with silky, well-integrated tannins that provide a solid and balanced structure. The freshness is lively and well-balanced with the richness of the wine, offering a long and persistent finish, with returns of red fruit and spicy notes. This Barolo has great aging potential and pairs perfectly with meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses.
