Fine WineBarolo Bussia di Ceretto is produced from a small parcel of property facing south in the heart of Bussia Soprana. The average age of the vines is 25 years. The vineyard is certified organic but conducted in biodynamics. Bussia was one of the first vineyards classified as cru; not only is it the best-known vineyard in Monforte but probably the best known of the denomination, worldwide. The brothers Bruno and Marcello Ceretto were the first in Piedmont who, starting from the 1960s, carried out a targeted and systematic acquisition of vineyards with peculiar characteristics, convinced of the importance of zoning and the recognition of crus, a concept learned during an enlightening trip to Burgundy and, at the time, unknown in the Nebbiolo region. The Bussia grapes are vinified in the Bricco Rocche winery, built in 1982 in Castiglione Falletto, where the futuristic glass cube has been admired since 2000.
Ceretto's Bussia 2016 shows itself in the glass with a bright ruby with garnet reflections. On the nose, it has notes of violet, plum, undergrowth and citrus. In the mouth, it has a great body, nice acidity, solid but elegant tannins, flavour and length. Excellent with stuffed rabbit sprinkled with white truffle.
