Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Monella di Braida is the historical product of the company, the one that has always existed, the one that grandfather Giuseppe and grandmother Caterina produced and drank. It is a lively Barbera produced by the youngest vines; bottled starting from 1961, it distinguished itself in 1969 at the National Competition of Douja d'Or wines in Asti, winning the gold medal that allowed it to participate for free in the fairs of Genoa, Turin and Milan where Giacomo began the comparison with other producers on the Barbera theme. Today the grapes undergo ten days of maceration on the skins, then the wine matures at least four months in steel. The second fermentation takes place in a vat. Two months of bottle ageing follow.
The Barbera Monella di Braida is lively, of a bright ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it is fragrant, vinous, fruity with blackberry and raspberry; in the mouth, it is pleasantly moved, fresh, tasty, inviting to the next sip. Definitely versatile, it is perfect with a plate of semi-seasoned cured meats, as with fried pasta and fresh cheeses, or even with pizza, or changing horizon, with boiled meat.
