Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Barbera Le Orme di Michele Chiarlo is born from the selection of clusters from different vineyards in the southern Asti area, with particular reference to the vineyards of Podere La Court and Montemareto in Castelnuovo Calcea, La Serra in Montaldo Scarampi, and Costa delle Monache in Agliano (the company owns a large platform of 110 hectares divided among Langhe, Monferrato, and Gavi). The soils are generally light, of marine sedimentary origin, called "Sabbie Astiane" rich in silt and microelements. The harvest is manual and fermentation takes place in steel tanks, with 10 days of maceration in contact with the skins and gentle wetting of the cap with the "shower" system. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in steel and wood for at least 16 months before being released on the market.
The Barbera d'Asti Le Orme by Michele Chiarlo is presented in the traditional ruby red with violet reflections of the first phase of life of wines from this grape variety. The fruit dominates on the nose, with intense notes of ripe cherries and currant syrup, enriched by aromatic herbs and black pepper. In the mouth, it is well-balanced with a nice freshness, soft tannins, and fruity savoriness. Delicious with cotechino and lentils! But also slightly chilled with pizza.
