Corpo robustoAllegrini's Amarone Corte Giara La Groletta is born from a blend of Corvina Veronese (70%) and Rondinella (30%) grapes harvested by hand in vineyards lying on the hills of Fumane di Valpolicella in the province of Verona. Here the soils, predominantly clayey, calcareous and rich in structure, are located at an altitude between 180 and 250 metres above sea level. Before being vinified, the grapes were subjected to natural drying in the loft for about 4 months, a practice that generated a greater sugar concentration in the berries. We are faced with a powerful and opulent red, the result of a long ageing of 5 months in steel, 15 months in wood (50% in Slavonian oak barrels, 50% in second passage barriques) and a further 6 months in the bottle. Excellent as a meditation wine or to brighten the table on small and large occasions.
Allegrini's Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Corte Giara La Groletta has an impenetrable ruby red colour in the glass. On the nose, it is a persuasive succession of aromas of ripe red fruit, tobacco and dark spices. The sip is powerful and at the same time velvety, supported by smooth tannins and a fresh and well integrated acid shoulder. The ending is long and memorable. At the table, it goes well with aged cheeses or opulent courses based on red meats or game.
