Corpo robustoAglianico del Vulture Taglio del Tralcio di Re Manfredi is the most modern and fresh interpretation that the company gives of the king grape of the area. The entire property enjoys an ideal position at the foot of Mount Vulture and here the vines grow in a very particular microclimate. The vineyards are almost entirely cultivated with Aglianico: 30 hectares of 20-year-old vines trained in Guyot and 22 hectares of 10-year-old vines trained in Cordon Spur, at an altitude of 420 m above sea level in the municipality of Venosa. Here the vine competes with the most widespread olive tree for the land. The extinct volcano Vulture dominates the plateau with its 1300 meters of height. Its lava has mixed with the soil rich in clay, calcium, nitrogen, and tuff, creating a unique terroir in its kind and in the wine landscape of the Mediterranean. Taglio del Tralcio is vinified in steel starting from slightly overripe clusters on the plant, and then aged for 6 months in wood, and another 6 in the bottle.
Aglianico del Vulture Taglio del Tralcio di Re Manfredi is bright ruby and of great concentration. On the nose it smells of blackberries and plums, withered rose petals, undergrowth in September, and black pepper. In the mouth, it has great balance between vivid freshness, powerful tannin, sapidity, fleshy fruit, and alcoholic generosity. Very good with baked pork belly.
