Corpo medioThe Aglianico Dal Re di Feudi di San GregorioAglianico Dal Re from Feudi di San Gregorio is a label from the Selezioni line of the well-known company owned by the Capaldo family. Aglianico is a robust and productive plant, cultivated in central southern Italy since time immemorial; the earliest evidence dates back to the Roman era. Harvest takes place in October and the grapes are vinified in steel. The wine matures for about 6 months in barriques, then rests in steel for another 2/3 months, and finally ages in the bottle for at least 6 months before being released on the market.
Aglianico dal Re from Feudi di San Gregorio appears in the glass with a bright ruby red color; on the nose, it is rich in red fruits like sour cherry and raspberry, accompanied by licorice and juniper berries. In the mouth, it is soft with well-present but ripe tannins, long, enveloping, and satisfying. It is a good choice to open the bottle an hour beforehand and pair it with a traditional risotto with Caciocavallo or stuffed eggplants, or simply with Napoli Salame with its light smokiness.
