The 1200 metri 2022 by Azienda Agricola SCIARA is an IGT Terre Siciliane Rosso from Etna, Sicily, made from 100% Spanish Grenache. It comes from vines of over 70 years of age, grown in Contrada Nave on soils of volcanic ash and sand at an altitude of 1200 metres. It is a wine that interprets this extreme site with precision, where altitude and volcanic origin shape a refined and deeply territorial character.

Vinification is carried out with spontaneous fermentations and indigenous yeasts, following an approach that respects the identity of the vineyard. The wine is then aged for nineteen months in terracotta vessels and glass containers, with the aim of preserving aromatic clarity, energy, and expressive transparency. Total production is just 960 bottles.

1200 metri 2022 shows a noble ruby-red colour. The nose is attractive and visceral, with a clearly Etnean signature that reveals ferrous notes, almost anchovy-like, alongside fruity nuances of blackberries and pomegranate, accompanied by hints of roasted chestnut. On the palate, the entry is decisive, yet at the same time delicate and expressive of its volcanic origin. The fine tannic texture supports an equally slender structure, delivering a wine of intriguing elegance.
