Johnnie Walker Red Label is today the best-selling Scotch whisky in the world and has been continuously distilled in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, since the early 1800s, where the historic distillery can still be visited. Originally known as Walker Kilmarnock Whisky, it was named by John "Johnnie" Walker after he began selling whisky in his grocery store in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Distillery

In 1827, John Walker, the founder of the company, began selling his whisky to sailors docking in Kilmarnock. Thanks to its high quality and robustness, Johnnie Walker whisky quickly became a must-have aboard ships, symbolizing adventurous spirit and courage.

Tasting Notes

Golden in color, the nose is quite pungent, with notes of heather roots, cut grass, a touch of fresh fruit, and honey. On the palate, it is full and rich, dominated by barley malt and spices. The finish is rather long, with a note of fine smoke and a hint of oak. Serve neat, over ice, or as the main ingredient in a cocktail.
