Corpo robustoThe Vino Nobile di Montepulciano di Boscarelli since 1968, the first vintage, constitutes about 50% of the entire company's production. Most of the vineyards in Cervognano are planted on calcareous soils of alluvial and sandy origin, with a good percentage of silt, clay and stony structure which vary according to position and altitude. Vino Nobile is produced with selected grapes in vineyards of at least 10 years of age. The vines that contribute to the composition of the Vino Nobile are 85% Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile, the remaining 15% Colorino, Canaiolo and Mammolo. The vinification takes place in steel vats, the ageing in Allier and Slavonian oak barrels of different capacities (from 5 to 35 hectolitres) for 18-24 months.
Boscarelli's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is presented in the glass with a beautiful ruby red with slightly garnet hues. On the nose, it is expressed with blackcurrant and blackberry jam, notes of Mediterranean aromatic and balsamic herbs, and spice towards chocolate. In the mouth, it is fresh, tannic and powerful: it is not difficult to perceive its ageing potential. Good with pappardelle with wild boar, or with liver pate with butter and truffle.
