Corpo medioThe Verdicchio di Matelica Vertis di Borgo Paglianetto derives its name from the Latin "vertere" ("to turn") and means "the highest point". Vertis is the maximum expression of the native vine: obtained from grapes coming from the oldest vineyards, about twenty years old and facing south, it is a wine with two years of evolution and distinctive characteristics that unmistakably identify it as Verdicchio di Matelica. Harvesting takes place in October; the grapes are processed in steel tanks, and the wine matures in steel for 8 months before bottling, followed by another 4 months before commercialization.
The Verdicchio di Matelica Vertis di Borgo Paglianetto is an intense straw yellow that turns golden. The olfactory profile is broad and elegant, with floral notes of broom, fruity tones of jujube and citrus, fresh hints of anise and ginger, sweet touches of honey, and hints of flint. The palate is salty, soft, and fresh; expanding towards smoke and almond. It pairs beautifully with a "custom-made" dish, such as risotto with buzzonaglia, lemon zest, and wild fennel.
