Fine WineTignanello 2020 di AntinoriTignanello 2020 by Antinori is born from the vineyard of the same name located within the historic Tignanello Estate in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (FI). Here, the soils are limestone enriched with tufaceous elements and are situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. The blend composition has remained unchanged since 1982: Sangiovese with a small portion of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The aging process took place for 14-16 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels, some new and some second passage, with an additional 12 months of bottle aging. We are facing a legendary wine that should not be missing in any connoisseur's cellar. In fact, the Tignanello 2020, besides enjoying international fame, holds a series of important records: it was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, as well as the first modern red wine to be blended with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernets. Finally, it was among the first reds of Chianti Classico not to include the use of white grapes. It is only produced in the best vintages.
The 2020 Tignanello by Antinori presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, clear aromas of sour cherry and small wild berries emerge, combining with balsamic hints of mint and notes of chocolate and dark spices. On the palate, it is harmonious and supported by a smooth tannic structure that merges with well-integrated freshness and elegant minerality that persists in the long finish. It pairs well with cured meats, aged cheeses, as well as tasty recipes featuring red meats and game.
