Tignanello by Antinori originates from the namesake vineyard within the historic Tenuta Tignanello in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (FI). The soils here are calcareous, enriched with tuff elements, and are situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. The blend composition has remained unchanged since 1982: Sangiovese with a small portion of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The aging process took place for 14-16 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly second-use, with an additional 12 months of rest in the bottle. This is a legendary wine that should not be missing from any connoisseur's cellar. Tignanello, in fact, besides enjoying international fame, holds a series of significant records: it was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, as well as the first modern red wine to be blended with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet. Finally, it was among the first Chianti Classico reds not to use white grapes. It is produced only in the best vintages.

TIGNANELLO ANTINORI: TASTING NOTES

Tignanello by Antinori presents itself with an intense ruby red color. The nose reveals clear aromas of black cherry and small forest fruits, combined with balsamic notes of mint and hints of chocolate and dark spices. On the palate, it is harmonious and supported by a smooth tannic structure that integrates well with a balanced freshness and elegant minerality, persisting through the long finish. At the table, Tignanello pairs well with cured meats and aged cheeses, as well as with flavorful recipes based on red meats and game.
