Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioAlta Langa Contessa Rosa Rosè Riserva di Fontanafredda is born from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the Langhe area in Alba and Asti. The vineyards here face South and Southwest, rooting in soils characterized by white clays, sands, and calcareous marls, at an altitude ranging from 400 to 650 meters above sea level. During vinification, a part of the Pinot Noir clusters was pressed and left to macerate in contact with the skins for 12-24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 18-20°C in stainless steel tanks where the wine remained in contact with the fine lees for several months. In accordance with the rules of the Classic Method, the second fermentation occurred in the bottle: aging was 48 months on the lees. A curiosity: in the liqueur d'expédition, a few drops of Barolo DOC 1967 were used.
Fontanafredda's Alta Langa Contessa Rosa Rosé Brut Riserva presents a pale pink color with onion skin reflections enlivened by an elegant perlage. On the nose, it releases aromas of small red fruits chasing scents of orange blossoms, lavender, basil, and notes of bread crust. On the palate, it is velvety and full-bodied, supported by an intense mineral freshness that lingers in the citrusy finish. At the table, it pairs well with cold cuts and cheeses, as well as with delicious seafood preparations.
