Solicchiata di Castello di Solicchiata
The Solicchiata di Castello di Solicchiata was made from Cabernet Franc (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), and Merlot (20%) grapes harvested by hand in the homonymous district of the municipality of Adrano (CT) on the southwest slope of Mount Etna. The vines, trained in the Greek bush vine system and arranged in terraces, therefore grow on volcanic soils at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. The red winemaking process took place in truncated cone-shaped tanks of French oak. The aging process lasted 24 months in barrels of Allier and Troncais oak and an additional 4-5 years in the bottle.
SOLICCHIATA CASTELLO DI SOLICCHIATA: TASTING NOTES
The Solicchiata di Castello di Solicchiata has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it evokes aromas of ripe berries and balsamic and floral hints, along with notes of coffee, cocoa, and dark spices. The taste is full, harmonious, and mineral, supported by mature tannins and a long, fruity, and spicy finish. It pairs well with cheese and rich, savory dishes based on red meats or game.Product specifications
