Corpo robustoSantico is Santi’s expression of Amarone della Valpolicella. Founded in 1843 in the Verona area, the winery draws on a defining Valpolicella tradition: drying the grapes before fermentation to concentrate their flavours. The 2021 vintage is a richly textured Italian red, offered here with a presentation box.
The wine comes from the Valpolicella area of Veneto, where Santi works with the region’s characteristic red varieties. The producer identifies Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone in the blend. Following a period of natural grape drying, the fruit is fermented and the wine develops further through oak maturation. This combination of tradition and cellar work lies behind its depth and rounded texture.
Expect a deep ruby colour and a concentrated bouquet suggesting cherry preserve, sour cherry, plum, cocoa, sweet spice and tobacco. On the palate, the style is full-bodied and supple, with velvety tannins, balancing freshness and a long finish. At the 2026 Amarone Opera Prima tastings, a barrel sample of the 2021 vintage received 91/100, a preliminary assessment made before bottling.
Serve at 16–18°C alongside braised beef, roasted meats, game, mature cheeses or richly dressed pasta. This version comprises one 750 ml bottle with a gift box, making it a considered choice for anyone who appreciates the reds of Veneto.
