The Salento Rosato Five Roses 75° Anniversario di Leone de Castris is obtained from 80% Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nera di Lecce grapes. The vineyards are located in the territory of Salice Salentino (LE) and sit on clay-loam soils. After the harvest, carried out with a yield of 75 quintals per hectare, the grapes underwent skin maceration at a temperature of 10°C for a few hours, followed by the extraction of the flower must (up to a maximum of 35%). Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16-20°C. Aging also occurred in stainless steel tanks for several months. The Anniversary version of this iconic rosé was introduced to celebrate the 50 years of Five Roses production, the first rosé in Italy to be bottled in 1943.

On the nose, aromas of cherry and wild strawberries combine with fragrant floral hints of rose petals. The palate is fresh and pleasant, supported by a lively fruity taste that lingers in the finish. It pairs well with cured meats, fresh and semi-aged cheeses, as well as vegetarian dishes and tasty seafood first and not dishes with tomatoes as the main ingredient.
