The Ornello from Rocca di Frassinello is made from 40% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 20% Syrah grapes grown on spur-pruned vines in the Gavorrano (GR) area. The vineyards are rooted in clay-rich, stony soils at an altitude of about 90 meters above sea level. Harvesting took place at different times during the year, depending on the ripeness of the grapes, with an average yield of 55 quintals per hectare. The wine-making process occurred in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation. The aging took place for 12 months in barriques (50% new) and 5 months in the bottle.

ORNELLO ROCCA DI FRASSINELLO: TASTING

Rocca di Frassinello's Ornello shows a deep ruby red color. The bouquet opens with aromas of ripe red fruits followed by hints of underwood, balsamic herbs, and subtle notes of roasted coffee and dark spices. The taste is intense and velvety, with a smooth tannic structure. The finish is pleasant, with balsamic and spicy notes. This wine pairs well with aged cheeses and hearty meat dishes featuring red meats or game.
