The Pinot Nero Sant'Elia di Castello di Solicchiata is obtained from 100% hand-picked Pinot Nero grapes grown on Greek bush-trained vines on the southwestern slopes of Mount Etna. The vineyard, organized in terraces, is rooted in volcanic soils at an altitude of about 1200 meters. The entire red winemaking process - which included the maceration of the must on the skins and malolactic fermentation - took place in truncated cone-shaped oak vats. The aging lasted 24 months in barrels from Alliers and Troncais oak, followed by an additional 36 months in the bottle.
PINOT NERO SANT'ELIA CASTELLO DI SOLICCHIATA: TASTING
The Pinot Nero Sant'Elia di Castello di Solicchiata presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color and garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe berries that chase scents of red flowers and aromatic herbs, along with notes of volcanic stone and dark spices. The taste is intense and round, supported by soft and structured tannins. The fruity and spicy finish lingers. At the table, it pairs excellently with aged cheeses, as well as savory land-based recipes with red meats and/or game.Product specifications
