Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Piemonte Rosso di Villa Lanata is a blend of Barbera, Merlot, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo (the Piemonte Doc denomination allows for a certain freedom in the use of grape varieties). The grapes come from the municipalities of Barolo, Cossano and Monforte; the vineyards are located at an average altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level and have their roots deep in clayey marl soils. After the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed, then they ferment in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a temperature of 25 °C. Once the malolactic fermentation is also completed, the wine matures in steel tanks for 6 months before being bottled.
The Piemonte Rosso di Villa Lanata pours into the glass with a beautiful deep ruby color. On the nose, it offers plenty of fruit, blackberries, plums, blueberries in jam, and then withered roses and violets, hints of undergrowth and black pepper. On the palate, it is fresh and soft, with silky tannins and an aromatic profile in line with the olfactory one. This blend creates a straightforward, uncomplicated wine, perfect for reviving late-afternoon snacks with dark bread, salami, and fresh toma cheese.
