Aroma florealeWith Belle Epoque Brut 2016, Perrier-Jouët brings together two hallmarks of its style: the delicate floral expression of Chardonnay and the refined structure of Pinot Noir. This is a Champagne made from a single harvest, rather than a non-vintage blend, and its careful balance makes it as appealing alongside food as it is for a special toast.
A hot, dry summer in Champagne helped the grapes reach a favourable balance between ripeness and acidity in 2016. The blend is 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier. Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs provides the House's distinctive finesse, while Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, particularly Mailly-Champagne, adds elegant structure. Perrier-Jouët identifies Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Vertus and Mailly among the emblematic crus.
Made by the traditional Champagne method, the 2016 cuvée spends at least six years ageing in the House's cellars and has a dosage of 8 g/l. Perrier-Jouët describes a golden hue, aromas of flowers, poached pear and citrus peel, followed by a fresh, precise palate with mineral notes and a delicate, silky feel.
The distinctive bottle displays the Japanese anemones designed in 1902 by Émile Gallé, one of the leading artists of Art Nouveau. Serve this Champagne at 8–10°C as an aperitif, or at approximately 12°C with a meal. Perrier-Jouët suggests sea bass, sole, lobster, quail and ceps among its food pairings.
Wine Enthusiast awarded Belle Epoque Brut 2016 94/100 in a review published in 2026. For anyone choosing a prestige vintage Champagne, it offers a compelling combination of floral precision, fine texture and the creative legacy of a historic Champagne House.
