Corpo robustoNocera Mastronicola di Cambria is the flagship wine of the company renewal. Produced from the vineyards of the Mastronicola Estate, it is Nocera in purity, an ancient Messina native grape, rediscovered by Nino Cambria walking through the vineyards, then studied, selected and propagated starting from the historical plants with dedication and patience, starting from 2005. We are in Furnari, in the province of Messina, with a view of the Aeolian islands; the grapes are harvested in mid-September and macerated for 24 hours at a low temperature before acclimatization and then the start of alcoholic fermentation. At the end of the process, the mass is gently pressed and the wine is then aged in French oak barrels of various capacities between 225 and 3,000 litres for about 14 months; once in the bottle, we wait a further 6 months before being released on the market.
Nocera Mastronicola di Cambria is presented in the ruby red glass towards garnet tones. The olfactory profile is broad and unfolds in withered flowers of rose, geranium and lavender, black cherry in alcohol, spicy hints of mace, pink and black pepper, and even balsamic and iodised scents, cedar of Lebanon, vanilla and bitter cocoa. The sip is opulent, with smooth tannins, decisive freshness and brackish flavour in perfect balance with the soft components. Very good with beef stew.
