Aroma erbaceoPrunotto's Moscato D'Asti was obtained 100% from Moscato Bianco di Canelli grapes. After the harvest by hand, the bunches were pressed and left for a short time in the press to facilitate the passage of aromas from the skins to the must. The alcoholic fermentation, once started, was stopped when the 5% alcohol content was reached by refrigeration. After clarification and filtration, aimed at providing stabilisation and clarity, the wine was bottled. Moscato Bianco belongs to the large Moscato family spread throughout Italy. The name derives from the term musk (from the late Latin muscum) which is one of the characteristic aromas of grapes.
Prunotto's Moscato D'Asti shines in the glass with a straw yellow colour enlivened by a light perlage. On the nose, it releases intense floral aromas of hawthorn that intertwine with mineral and citrus hints and warm notes of acacia honey. The sip is enveloping and elegant, enhanced by an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity and by a finish played on fruity and floral aromas. Delicately savoury finish. At the table, it goes well with all types of desserts, from dry pastries to cakes made with seasonal fruit. The combination with foie gras based appetisers and chicken liver pate is intriguing.
