Corpo robustoFrescobaldi's Mormoreto Toscana IGT Castello di Nipozzano 2018 was made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese grapes. The vineyard of origin, called Mormoreto, is located within the Castello di Nipozzano estate, in the province of Florence, in the heart of the DOCG Chianti Rufina area. After the manual harvest, the grapes were sent for vinification, which included a phase of alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature lasting 10 days. Following the malolactic fermentation, which softened its structural and aromatic edges, Frescobaldi's Mormoreto Toscana IGT Castello di Nipozzano 2018 aged for 24 months in French oak barrels plus a further 3 months in the bottle.
Frescobaldi's Mormoreto Toscana IGT Castello di Nipozzano 2018 shows a ruby red colour with purple reflections. On the nose, it expresses intense aromas of blackberry, raspberry and small ripe berries intertwined with citrus hints of bergamot and delicate notes of vanilla and oriental spices. The sip is elegant and harmonious, enhanced by a fine tannic texture and a vibrant freshness combined with a gentle minerality that persists in the long finish. At the table, it goes well with semi-aged and aged cheeses as well as with first and second courses based on red meats and game.
