Corpo medioThe Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto Castello ColleMassari di Colle Massari originates from a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Ciliegiolo, and 15% Montepulciano grapes, grown in the territory of Cinigiano, in the province of Grosseto. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level and are rooted in different soils: ranging from sandstone to calcareous clays, to iron-rich soils and gravel deposits. The winemaking process included a phase of alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The aging process took place for 5 months in stainless steel tanks and for an additional 5 months in second or third-passage barrels or barriques. Before being commercialized, the Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto Castello ColleMassari di Colle Massari rested for 6 months in bottles.
The Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto Castello ColleMassari di Colle Massari presents itself with a ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals fragrant hints of small wild berries combined with balsamic aromas of Mediterranean herbs and delicate notes of black pepper and dark spices. On the palate, it shows a straightforward and pleasantly balanced character, enhanced by a light body and a gentle fresh-sapid trail that lingers on the finish. Excellent as a meal wine, it pairs well with cold cuts, fresh and semi-aged cheeses, as well as dishes based on red or white meats cooked in stew.
