Fine WineThe Masseto Toscana Rosso di MassetoMasseto Toscana Rosso of Masseto is a highly prestigious label made from 100% Merlot, a true reference point for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The vineyard of origin, which shares the same name, is divided into three parts - Centrale, Junior, and Alto - in the area of Bolgheri (LI). Here, the soils are characterized by loamy clays and blue clays, at an altitude of approximately 120 meters above sea level. In the cellar, the carefully selected grape clusters underwent delicate pressing. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 25-28°C, with the must maceration on the skins lasting 15-20 days. The blending of the three parcels occurred after 12 months of aging in barriques. Subsequently, the wine matured for an additional 12 months in the same barrels.
In the glass, the Masseto Toscana Rosso di Masseto stands out with an intense ruby red color and bright reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe berries, violet petals, and hints of dark spices. Complementing the olfactory profile are notes of Mediterranean scrubland, tobacco, and cocoa powder. The taste is intense, structured, and fresh, supported by a mature and silky tannic texture. It finishes with a long and captivating balsamic and spicy finale. When paired with food, it complements well with aged cheeses and succulent dishes of red meats or game.
