Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioLugana Le Fornaci di Tommasi is produced from the vineyards owned by the Family on the southern shore of Lake Garda. Lugana is a wine to which Tommasi has been dedicating great attention and a specific project for years; the Estate Le Fornaci consists of three main vineyards located in different areas of the Lugana DOC, for a total of 45 hectares: two plots located inland and a larger one towards Lake Garda, always in Desenzano. All vineyards are planted with the typical grape variety, Turbiana, using the guyot system. Le Fornaci is a blend obtained from the separate vinification of two vineyards with very different soil compositions. After the careful grape harvest, slow fermentation at controlled temperature (14°/18°) follows, and then racking for natural sedimentation. The refinement on fine lees lasts about 3 months, followed by a further maturation period in steel.
Lugana Le Fornaci di Tommasi presents itself as a pale straw yellow with great brilliance. The nose first reveals notes of small aromatic herbs, thyme, oregano, and marjoram, then a green apple, pear, and citrus fruit, and finally a floral spiciness of lavender, cardamom, and white pepper. In the mouth, it is sapid, with the freshness of lime and a classic finish of almond. Excellent exotic pairing with grilled udon noodles with chicken and vegetables.
