Baccanera di Cascina Lo Zoccolaio is a blend of Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards located in Barolo and Monforte d’Alba, facing southeast, at an altitude of 300 meters on marly-calcareous soils. After the harvest at the end of September, strictly done by hand as tradition dictates, only the best grapes are selected. The vinification then proceeds separately by grape variety: destemming, soft pressing, and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is blended and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, further refining in the bottle before being sold (the company has chosen a high-quality bottle, heavy glass, for better and longer preservation).

Baccanera di Cascina Lo Zoccolaio has a dark and intense ruby color; on the nose, the fruit dominates, with jammy forest fruits and emerging dried plum, followed by hints of dried roses and irises, gentle forest balsams, and touches of sweet spices and pepper. In the mouth, it has good body, balance, freshness, fine tannins, and a fruity finish. Excellent with roast duck.
