The idea took shape through a collaboration with Priscilla Occhipinti of Distilleria Nannoni, a long-standing partner in the production of Aqua Vitae, making it possible to create a gin with a strong and distinctive identity. This is a London Dry Gin obtained by distilling in grain alcohol a maceration of botanicals selected exclusively from the estate and the surrounding woodlands. The recipe mirrors the landscape and seasonality of the area: dried lemon and kumquat peel, fig leaf, walnut leaf, orris root, and juniper berries come together to form an essential, precise, and coherent aromatic profile, where citrus notes interact with green, balsamic, and gently bitter accents. Production is intentionally very limited. The exclusive use of estate-grown botanicals results in small quantities, turning each bottle into a direct expression of its place of origin. This intimate, almost domestic scale is one of the most fascinating aspects of Gin Montevertine. Best enjoyed neat and well chilled to fully appreciate its aromatic precision and natural balance. Pairing it with a dry tonic, preferably on the bitter side, is also an excellent alternative that enhances its character without overpowering it.
