Corpo leggeroFalanghina BruEmm di Ciro Picariello is produced from vineyards in the Benevento area. Located at 400 meters above sea level, the south-facing vineyards have calcareous clay soil; the vines have an average age of 15 years. The harvest takes place at the beginning of October; the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed and the must is cooled at 8°C for 24 hours. The fermentation is carried out slowly at a controlled temperature around 12-13° C for 60 days. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks with frequent batonnages for 5 months, then in the bottle for an additional 2 months before being marketed.
Falanghina BruEmm di Ciro Picariello has a bright straw yellow color. The nose is intriguing, with hints of white peach, pineapple, melon, and broom plant, as well as notes of menthol and hints of citrus. The mouthfeel is fresh and savory; the good persistence is accented by aromatic herbs. This is a delightful wine to be enjoyed with sea bream or with good buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.
