The Etna Rosso limited edition by Valcerasa bears the name of Alice Bonaccorsi. As she herself says with a smile: "it is a self-celebrating wine", it was born from the idea of keeping some of the bottles of the splendid 2006 vintage. The grapes come from the Crucimonaci vineyard and were vinified in 2 open conical vats. After fermentation, racking and racking, the wine was assembled, and after a year moved to a steel vat, but some wine was leftover and was placed in a small 300-litre vat. When the large vat was bottled in 2011, the small container was forgotten. After a few months, tasting this wine, Alice and her husband Rosario realised that it was really interesting and they bottled it in Bordeaux bottles (with a label designed by Lucia Scuderi, dear friend, painter and illustrator of fairy tales) to distinguish it and understand the real ageing capacity.

ETNA ROSSO ALICE BONACCORSI 2006 VALCERASA: TASTING

The limited edition Etna Rosso by Valcerasa is bright garnet red. The nose inebriates with oriental spices that intertwine with clear hints of rose, subtle notes of ginger, liquorice and tobacco, followed by black cherry jam and Moro orange pulp. On the palate, the tannins are thin and silky, hints of juniper appear in the aftertaste and the finish tends to be bitter; persistence is very long. Excellent pairing with lamb Kofta, delicious Turkish meatballs.
