The Etna Rosso Cirneco di Terrazze dell'Etna was produced from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes grown in Contrada Calderara, in the territory of the municipality of Randazzo (CT), on the northwest slope of Mount Etna. The vineyards here are trained with the traditional "alberello etneo" system and include vines over 60 years old, some of which are ungrafted, rooted in volcanic soils, at an altitude of about 550 meters above sea level. During the winemaking process, alcoholic fermentation, with maceration of the must in contact with the skins, lasted for 40 days. The ageing took place for 24 months in tonneaux followed by a long period of bottle ageing.
