Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Etna Barbazzale Rosso di Cottanera was produced from 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio grapes grown in Contrada Cottanera, in the Etna territory of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT). The vineyards originate from lava-alluvial and lava-clayey soils at an altitude of approximately 720 meters above sea level. After manual harvesting, carried out with a yield of 75 quintals per hectare, the clusters were transported to the winery for vinification, which included a must maceration phase in contact with the skins at a temperature of 28°C. The refinement took place for 8 months in stainless steel.
The Etna Rosso Barbazzale di Cottanera presents itself with a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses notes of raspberries and small red fruits intertwined with hints of wild flowers and notes of Mediterranean herbs. The taste is fresh and mineral, supported by smooth tannins and a pleasant fruity and herbaceous finish. It pairs well with savory vegetarian dishes or recipes based on red meats.
