The Etna Rosso di Idda was obtained from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes. The reference vineyards are located in the municipality of Biancavilla (CT), on the southwest side of Mount Etna, at an altitude between 700 and 800 meters above sea level. During the red winemaking process, alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by a 3-week maceration of the must on the skins, took place partly in stainless steel and partly in concrete. The aging process lasted 24 months, partly in wood and partly in concrete.

ETNA ROSSO IDDA: TASTING

The Etna Rosso di Idda presents itself with a ruby red color with bright reflections. The aroma features scents of mulberry, sour cherry, and ripe small red fruits combined with hints of herbs, sulfur, as well as notes of marzipan and dark spices. The taste is enveloping and deeply mineral, with a gentle freshness and mature tannic structure. The long finish is fruity with hints of flint. It pairs well with cheeses and flavorful meat dishes based on red meats or game at the table.
