Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Chianti Biskero di Salcheto was obtained from Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo (5%), Mammolo (5%) and Merlot (5%) grapes grown in the vineyards of "Poggio Piglia" in Chiusi (SI) and of "Abbadia" in Torrita di Siena (SI). At the end of the malolactic fermentation, which softened the aromatic and structural edges, the wine was aged for 4 months in wood: a part of the mass (30%) remained in 300-liter American oak tonneaux. Before release, Salcheto's Chianti DOCG Biskero 2017 rested for 3 months in the bottle. This red proudly representative of the territory of origin is the result of a vintage, 2017, particularly hot and dry which gave birth to particularly soft and full-bodied wines, and at the same time, pleasantly balanced.
Chianti Biskero di Salcheto has an intense ruby red colour in the glass. On the nose, it reveals aromas of strawberries and small berries that intertwine with hints of potpourri and clear notes of pepper and dark spices. Soft and full-bodied, on the palate, it reveals a full and mineral taste supported by powerful but well-tamed tannins. Lingering finish. Excellent as a wine for the whole meal, at the table, it goes well with cold cuts and semi-aged cheeses as well as with first and second courses based on game or red meats.
