The Chianti Classico Petrignano di Dievole for the year 2021 has been awarded "Best Red Wine of Italy" by Gambero Rosso. It is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes, an expression of the most renowned estate vineyards. The reference vines are trained using the Guyot method on calcareous soils with abundant rocky skeleton, at an altitude of about 335 meters above sea level. During red vinification, alcoholic fermentation took place for 14-15 days in raw cement vats of 75 hectoliters at a maximum temperature of 28°C. Aging was for 13 months in untoasted 41-hectoliter French oak barrels, followed by an additional 3 months in the bottle.

The Chianti Classico Petrignano di Dievole presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases aromas of cherries and ripe wild berries intertwined with floral hints of violet, balsamic herbs, and dark spice notes. The palate is elegant and velvety, supported by finely polished tannins and a long and exciting fruity and spicy finish. This wine pairs well with aged cheeses and flavorful land-based dishes featuring red meats or game.
