The Champagne L'Universelle di Baron AlbertChampagne L'Universelle of the maison Baron Albert is a blend focused on the expression of Pinot Meunier, the principal grape of this area of Champagne, accounting for 73%, accompanied by 16% Chardonnay and the remaining 11% Pinot Noir. The grapes come from all 7 crus in the Marne Valley where the Baron sisters, the third generation of the family, have vineyards: Charly-sur-Marne, Pavant, Porteron, Domptin, Azy-sur-Marne, Villiers-Saint-Denis, and Crouttes-sur-Marne. This cuvée ages on lees for 3 to 4 years.

Baron Albert's Champagne Brut L'Universelle shines in the glass with a golden color and fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is delicately fruity and citrusy, with hints of vegetation and subtle minerality; on the palate, it has plenty of freshness, sapidity, and elegance, closing with notes of hazelnut and white flowers. An excellent sparkling wine to start the evening, it pairs perfectly with unagi sushi, eel sushi, or simply with turkey meatballs seasoned with laurel.
